With the first version of our app for Windows Phone, it’s possible to enjoy your TalkTalk TV Store shows wherever you’ve got a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
Just download and install the app, sign in and you’re ready to enjoy all your favourite movies and TV shows! We’ll assume you’ve connected your phone to a UK based Wi-Fi or mobile data connection before reading this.
Just so you know, this article is all about getting setup and using the app. If something’s wrong, we’ve got another article that covers common issues.
How do I get started?
You’ll need at least Windows Phone software version 8.1 to enjoy our app. To check your version, just go to Settings > About > More info, and look at the Software version.
All up to date? Excellent. Now just:
- Download the TalkTalk TV Store app by searching for ‘TalkTalk’ on the Store. You’re looking for the TalkTalk TV Store app.
- When you open the app for the first time, we’ll ask you to sign in using your TalkTalk TV Store account. You can create an account by visiting www.talktalktvstore.co.ukblinkbox.com in your web browser if you haven’t already got one.
How do I find and purchase movies and TV shows?
We’ve not added a shop to this version of our app for Windows Phone, so you’ll need to use our website to purchase Movies and TV shows instead. To make it easy, we’ve optimised our shop to work really well on your phone and added a quick link to our website in each section of the app.

Once you’ve bought your movie or TV show, go back to the app - your content will then appear so you can watch it straight away.
How do I watch movies and TV?
Once you’ve logged into the app, we’ll show you all of your movies straightaway. Just tap the play button on the one you’d like to watch, and you’ll be good to go. If you’ve picked a rental, we’ll warn you about any time restrictions you need to be aware of.
If you’d like to watch TV instead, just swipe to the right hand side from the My movies screen, and we’ll take you to your My TV shows section. You can swipe back to the left hand side to return to your movie library.
Find the show you’re interested in and tap it to see all of the episodes you own.
Once you’ve found the episode you’re interested in, just press the play button and we’ll start your episode straight away.
If the episode you’re interested is from a different series, just tap the series picker and choose the one you’re interested in from the drop down menu.
If you’re done looking at a TV series, you can press the back button to return to the main My TV shows menu.
How do I control the player?
We’re using the default Windows Phone player for our app, which you’ll be used to from watching other movies on your phone. If you can’t see the controls, just tap the screen. When you’ve finished watching, just press the back button.
How do I sign out?
If you’d like to sign out of the TalkTalk TV Store app, just open the action bar by tapping the three dots in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Once you’ve opened the menu, simply choose ‘Sign out’ and you’ll be taken back to the login screen. You can also find the TalkTalk TV Store terms and conditions in this menu.
Where's my watch later list?
We’ve not yet added Watch Later to the Windows Phone app, so for now, you’ll need to visit our mobile optimised website at www.talktalktvstore.co.uk in your browser to view it. There’s information about managing your watch later list on our website in this article.
How do I add TalkTalk TV Store to my start screen?
With the TalkTalk TV Store live tile, you’ll be able to see what’s new at a glance and access your existing library with one tap. To create a live tile, hold down on our app in your apps menu and tap ‘pin to start’.
You can move our live tile around or choose one of the three available sizes in the usual way. You can also pin movies and TV episodes to your start screen by holding them down and tapping ‘pin to start’ in the same way.
What do I need to know about mobile data?
Our app for Windows Phone lets you both browse your library and watch movies and TV shows using your mobile data connection. For the best experience, we’d recommend a 4G connection where available. It’s worth noting that watching content over mobile data can be expensive and may incur additional charges from your mobile network, particularly if you’re not on a plan with unlimited internet.
If you’ve got any doubts about watching movies and TV shows over mobile data, we’d recommend contacting your mobile network. You’re responsible for any data charges incurred whilst using our application, and you can monitor your overall data usage using the Data Sense app that came pre-installed with your Windows Phone.
