Now, it’s possible to enjoy great blinkbox Movies and TV shows from your iPad, Android tablet or computer on your TV using Google Chromecast. It’s probably the easiest way to enjoy your library on your existing HD television.
What is a Chromecast?
With Chromecast, it’s really easy to enjoy movies and TV shows from blinkbox, as well as content from other places on the web, like YouTube, on your TV in up to HD. It works by streaming your movie or TV show directly from the internet and using devices you already own, like iPad and Android tablets or your Windows laptop, as a remote.
As long as your TV has a HDMI port, it can be used to watch your favourite movies and TV shows with Chromecast. Whilst casting, your iPad, Android tablet or PC acts as the remote control for playback on the TV.
Which blinkbox apps and devices support Chromecast?
Chromecast is supported by the latest versions of our iPad and Android tablet applications.
You can also setup and use Chromecast on your Windows PC with the latest Google Chrome web browser and the Google Cast plugin. You’ll need Windows 7 or higher.
You’ll also want to make sure that your TV has a HDMI port and you’ve either got a USB port on your TV or a spare power outlet nearby.
Finally, you’ll need a wireless internet connection with speeds of at least 2Mbps (or 5Mbps to watch in HD) that supports the 802.11 b/g/n standard secured by WEP, WPA or WPA2 security. If that all sounds technical – don’t worry, the vast majority of wireless routers meet these requirements, including the ones provided by TalkTalk, BT, Virgin Media, Sky, EE and PlusNet.

Why can't I use Chromecast offline with my downloads?
Google Chromecast works by streaming your movie from the internet, whilst using your iPad or Android tablet as a remote. It doesn’t stream directly from your device. Because of this, if your Chromecast and the device you’re using as a remote aren’t both connected to the internet with the same Wi-Fi connection, they can’t communicate with each other or our servers, so your movie can’t play.
